Privacy Policy

The short version. Stand shows your photos to other people so they can judge them in duels. That is the whole point of the app, so the photos you add are seen by other users. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other apps. You can delete your account and everything in it from the app, at any time.
This policy explains what Stand collects, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. Stand is operated by Roméo Robard ("Stand", "we", "us"). If you have a question, write to contact@getstand.app.
1. What we collect
What you give us
- Sign-in. When you continue with Apple, Apple gives us a private identifier that stays the same each time you sign in. Apple may also share your first name the first time; we only use it to fill in your name. We don't ask Apple for your email and never see your Apple password.
- Profile. Your first name, your sex, your date of birth (to check you are 18 or older) and your country (taken from your phone's region setting).
- Photos. The photos you add in each category (Face, Physique, Style, Lifestyle, Wealth), and your profile photo if you choose one.
- What you do on Stand. The duels you judge and the choices you make, your friends and friend requests, challenges, reactions, the messages you send to friends, your couple link, invite codes you use or share, and the people you block or report.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, we store a token for your device so we can tell you about new messages, friend requests and challenges. You can turn them off anytime in your iPhone settings.
- Messages to us. Anything you send to our support email.
What is created from your activity
- Ranks. Your ranks come from how other people vote on your photos. They are computed automatically and are the opinion of other users, nothing more.
- Fairness statistics. We keep statistics about votes (for example, how often a judge agrees with others) to detect abuse and keep rankings fair. These are not shown to anyone.
- Technical data. Like any online service, our providers receive your IP address and basic device information when the app connects to them.
We do not collect your precise location, your contacts, your photo library (only the photos you pick), advertising identifiers, or data from other apps.
2. Who can see what
- Other Stand users see your category photos and first name in duels and rankings, your rank card, and your ranks. Your friends also see your profile photo, your challenges with them and the messages you send them. Your partner sees your couple link.
- Moderators see reported content (photos, messages, profiles) to review it.
- Nobody sees your date of birth, the votes you cast, or who you blocked or reported.
Keep in mind that anyone who sees your photos in the app could take a screenshot. Only add photos you are comfortable showing to strangers.
3. Why we use it
- To run Stand: create your account, show your photos in duels, compute ranks, and run friends, challenges, messages and couples. (Legal basis in the EU/UK: performance of our contract with you.)
- To keep Stand safe: check age, review reports, remove content that breaks the rules, block abuse and fake votes. (Our legitimate interest in a safe community, and legal obligations.)
- To answer you when you contact us.
- To fix bugs and improve the app.
We don't sell your personal information, don't share it for targeted advertising, and don't use your photos to train AI.
4. Service providers
We use a few companies to run Stand. They process data only on our behalf:
- Supabase hosts our database and stores photos, on servers in the United States.
- Apple provides Sign in with Apple and distributes the app.
- Expo delivers app updates and sends push notifications (through Apple's notification service).
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a sale or merger of Stand (you would be told).
5. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account exists. When you delete your account (Settings → Delete account), we delete your profile, photos, ranks, duels, friends, challenges, reactions, couple link and messages right away. Reports you made about other people are kept without your identity so moderation stays consistent.
6. Your choices and rights
- In the app: change your name and profile photo, remove or replace photos, block people, and delete your account.
- By email: ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion at contact@getstand.app. We answer within 30 days.
- EU, EEA and UK: you can access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your data, ask for a portable copy, and complain to your data protection authority.
- US residents (for example, California): you can ask to know, correct or delete your personal information. We don't sell or share it for cross-context advertising. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.
7. Age
Stand is only for people 18 and older. We ask for your date of birth at sign-up and don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18, we delete the account. If you think a minor is using Stand, report the profile in the app or email us.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, photo files are private and served through links that expire, and access to data is restricted by user. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
9. International transfers
Stand's servers are in the United States. If you use Stand from another country, your data is transferred there, with the protections our providers offer for international transfers.
10. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app when the change is important.
