Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and Roméo Robard, who operates Stand ("Stand", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using Stand, you accept them. If you don't, please don't use Stand. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

1. Who can use Stand

• You must be 18 or older.
• One person, one account. Give true information about your age and sex.
• You can't use Stand if you've been banned before, or if the law doesn't allow you to.

2. What Stand is

On Stand, other people compare your photos two at a time ("duels") and pick one. Your ranks come from those votes. Ranks are the opinion of other users at a given moment. They are a game, not a measure of your worth, and we don't promise any particular result. You can also add friends, send them messages, challenge them and link with a partner.

3. Your photos and content

• You keep ownership of the photos, messages and other content you post.
• So that Stand can work, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, copy, resize and show your content to other users in the app (duels, rankings, rank cards, friends, messages), and in cards you choose to share. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other people already shared or saved.
• You confirm that you have the right to post your content, and that the people in your photos agreed to it.

4. Rules

You agree not to:

• post photos of anyone under 18, or of someone else pretending to be you;
• post nudity, sexual content, violence, or illegal content;
• harass, threaten, humiliate or bully anyone, or post hateful content;
• post someone's private information, or photos of people who didn't agree;
• cheat: fake accounts, bots, buying or trading votes, or voting at random to manipulate ranks;
• scrape, copy or collect other users' photos or data;
• hack, overload, reverse-engineer or get around the app's security;
• use Stand to advertise or spam.

Category photos must be real, recent photos of you taken in Stand.

5. Safety and moderation

You can block and report anyone. We may review reported content, and we may remove content, hide a profile, reset ranks or suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk, with or without notice. We may also share information with authorities when the law requires it or when someone is in danger.

6. Your account

You sign in with Apple and are responsible for what happens on your account. You can delete it at any time in Settings → Delete account. We may stop offering Stand, or change or remove features, at any time.

7. Paid features

Stand is free today. If we add paid features later, their price and conditions will be shown before you buy, and purchases will go through the App Store.

8. Disclaimers

Stand is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties about the app, its availability or other users' behavior. Content on Stand comes from users, and we are not responsible for it.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of data, reputation or profits, or for what other users do. Our total liability for any claim about Stand is limited to 100 US dollars. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, or your rights as a consumer under the laws of your country.

10. Apple

• These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for Stand or its content.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Stand.
• If Stand fails to meet any warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, which may refund the purchase price (if any). Apple has no other warranty obligation for Stand.
• Apple is not responsible for any claims about Stand, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection, or intellectual property claims. We are responsible for handling those claims.
• You confirm that you are not located in a country under a U.S. government embargo and are not on a U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above and tell you in the app when the change is important. If you keep using Stand after that, you accept the new terms.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. This doesn't take away any protection you have under the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live. Before starting any legal action, please contact us at contact@getstand.app so we can try to solve the problem together within 60 days.
